The giveaway received thousands of entries and raised awareness through social media, specifically through Twitter and Instagram. The giveaway was free to enter and participants could increase their chances of winning through a variety of additional social media sharing.
Napping.com, in 1999, instituted the term National Napping Day by the late William Anthony, a psychologist and Boston University professor. Since then National Napping Day has become a day celebrated on social media the day after Daylight Savings Time. It was created to overcome American culture prejudice against napping and to raise awareness of the benefits of quality sleep.
“We created this giveaway to continue Napping.com’s mission to raise awareness of the benefits of sleeping and thank all of the participants who entered, shared with friends and family, and promoted the hashtag #napyourwaythroughtheday,” said Anthony Santiago, VP of Marketing.
With National Sleep Awareness Month still in progress, Napping.com has additional plans to continue to raise awareness during this month and throughout the year.
“Adjusting to life in a pandemic, sleeping and napping habits have been altered and it’s important to first recognize this shift and then make sure we educate ourselves on best sleep practices, there is a Napidemic happening whether we know it or not”, continued Santiago.
